This week Mmanaledi Mataboge and Faranaaz Parker look back at the weekend's big stories and cast an eye forward to what you can expect in the news this week.

Last week's drama involving national commissioner Riah Phiyega, Western Cape police commissioner Arno Lamoer and the special investigative unit has highlighted the growing infighting in the South African Police Service. Sally Evans, a reporter from AmaBhungane, the M&G Centre for Investigative Journalism, tells us more about the infighting that's paralyzing the SAPS.

The horrific rape and murder of Anene Booysen rocked the country but her case was not unique. Reporter Sarah Evans tells us about Letty Wapad, a 24-year-old woman raped and murdered in a similar way, who's case never reached national attention.

Mothers are dying in droves at KwaMhlanga hospital in Mpumalanga, and in many cases their babies don't survive either. Health reporter Ina Skosana, from Bhekisisa the M&G's Centre for Health Journalism, tells us what lies behind these tragic stories.

We'll talk about all the biggest news from the weekend and get you up to speed on what to expect this week and along the way we'll play you some of our weekly "choons", dedicated to the people and issues making headlines.
