Company Condemns Justine Sacco's Aids, Race Tweet

An American public relations consultant for a media company sparked outrage on social media sites on Saturday after tweeting that she would not contract Aids because she is white, SABC news reported.

Justine Sacco tweeted on Friday: "Going to Africa, hope I don't get Aids. Just kidding, I'm white".

Sacco is head of public relations for US internet company, InterActiveCorp (IAC).

The hashtag #HasJustineLandedYet was trending on social media site Twitter as people tracked her flight from London's Heathrow Airport to the Cape Town International Airport, according to the report.

IAC, which owns match.com, condemned the tweet and has since distanced itself. – Sapa
