We headed to the Chiawelo dance competition in Soweto, where an energetic crowd dance to the newest Shangaan Electro beats. Chiawelo is home to a majority of Shangaan and Tsonga people and is at the epicentre of new electronic Shangaan music. Most Sundays Shangaan residents take to the streets to attend these open dance competitions.
