Kaizer Chiefs has named goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune as their new captain on Tuesday as Jimmy Tau was dismissed as captain but remains in the team.

Jimmy Tau has warned Kaizer Chiefs not to underestimate Ajax Cape Town when the clubs clash in the Telkom Knockout Final on Saturday.
”It’s far from over and we are not just competing for the sake of competing,” said Jimmy Tau ahead of Chiefs clash with Bidvest Wits on Saturday.
”We will not let that victory go to our heads,” said Kaizer Chiefs skipper Jimmy Tau on Monday after his team’s thrashing of Santos in the MTN Cup.

After Kaizer Chiefs lost 1-0 to Thanda Royal Zulu on Wednesday evening their chairperson Kaizer Motaung voiced his displeasure on the club’s website. ”Clearly the technical team has become more defensive by playing a lone striker system that also has no supplier or some innovation in penetration,” Motaung said.

This time last year Muhsin Ertugral was calm and affable. He was clocking success after success with Ajax Cape Town, whose players he called his chickens — mostly because of their youth. SuperSport United held Kaizer Chiefs to a 0-0 draw in an entertaining Premier Soccer League game at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Sunday. Chiefs had the better chances and played with a swagger that had the hosts on the back foot for most of the game, but could not beat the superb Dennis Onyango in goal.
