Thriving Milan-based Tecnovision was among nearly 100 Italian companies pitching for business this week at CeBIT.

Warm weather can make processors sweat, especially if the inside of your computer case has become a habitat for dust bunnies. Two-goal Bosacki seals Poland victory

Two goals from defender Bartosz Bosacki — his first for his country — gave Poland a comeback 2-1 victory over Costa Rica in their nothing-at-stake Group A encounter on Tuesday. With Germany and Ecuador having already qualified for the last 16, the teams were playing for the futures of their under-fire coaches and to avoid last spot in the group.

Neo-Nazis plan march in Leipzig for World Cup

Angola arrived in Hanover airport in Germany on Saturday ahead of the World Cup finals with threats by neo-Nazis of a march on the day of one of their matches. As the debutant West Africans became the third participating nation, after Togo and Costa Rica to set up camp ahead football showpiece, weekly magazine Der Spiegel broke the news about a planned anti-semitic neo-Nazi rally.

Look after your car’s air conditioning to save fuel

The correct use of a car’s air-conditioning system, including switching the unit off completely when it is not needed, can save fuel, experts at the TUV Nord testing centre in Hanover point out. When the car interior heats up after the vehicle has been standing in the sun for a long period, it is far more effective to open all the doors and the tailgate first before switching on the air conditioning.

The cellphone is a phone no more

The new cellphone models unveiled at the CeBIT technology show on Wednesday let users do more than just call a friend to catch up. How about sending a brief film clip of you by the fountain in Rome? Or perhaps a picture snapped of the Eiffel Tower with an image quality so fine it could be blown up and put in a 25cm x 35cm frame.

German teenager ‘fesses up to creating Sasser

An 18-year-old German man has confessed to creating the internet Sasser worm which infected millions of computers worldwide last week, police said on Saturday. The teenager, whom police have not identified by name, was arrested on Friday after a raid on his house in Rotenburg, in the northern state of Lower Saxony, which turned up incriminating evidence.
