Two more people have been admitted to hospital with suspected cholera in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, the provincial health department said on Tuesday.
The KwaZulu-Natal health department has lodged a complaint against the Scorpions following search-and-seizure raids and alleged leaks to local media, a departmental spokesperson said on Thursday. Scorpions spokesperson Tlali Tlali said he was not immediately aware of the complaint.

The KwaZulu-Natal health department has dropped a misconduct charge against rural doctor Colin Pfaff, following a storm of protest, the doctor confirmed on Thursday. Pfaff faced the charge for administering dual therapy — two antiretroviral drugs — to prevent the infection of babies born to HIV-positive mothers.

A team of psychologists in KwaZulu-Natal has been tasked to deal with ”stressed” matriculants when they receive their results, the provincial department of education said on Thursday. Spokesperson Chris Maxon said the department was concerned by an increase in the number of attempted suicides by pupils.

The death toll has dropped to 12 in the devastating fire that gutted a Nkandla old-age home in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday night, the South African Broadcasting Corporation reported on Wednesday. Earlier reports said that 15 people had died. Radio news reported that a cigarette may have caused the fire.
