The IFP Youth Brigade has reacted angrily to a statement by the ANCYL’s Julius Malema, who called on his party members to campaign in IFP strongholds.
Jabulani Ndaba, member of award-winning local music group Malaika, was a ”talented star and an inspiration to young South Africans”.
The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) and other youth bodies on Friday launched a campaign against xenophobia following the recent attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa. Briefing the media in Johannesburg, ANCYL president Julius Malema extended his apology and assured foreigners they were welcome in the country.
Durban’s Mangosuthu University of Technology was officially closed down on Friday following a week of student protests. A pamphlet distributed at the institution and signed by vice-chancellor and principal Aaron Ndlovu ordered all students to vacate the institution’s residences and leave the premises by noon.
