Nearly three million lives have been saved by HIV/Aids treatment, according to a new book commissioned by the United Nations.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation has not been silenced on the 92-year-old former president’s health condition, its CEO Achmat Dangor said on Thursday.

Former president Nelson Mandela was at the Ellis Park stadium on Monday to greet the South African artists who had agreed to perform in his fifth 46664 concert aimed at fighting HIV/Aids. Johnny Clegg, Arno Carstens, Loyiso and the Soweto Gospel Choir are just some of the local stars scheduled to appear at the 46664 concert later this year.

Former South African president Nelson Mandela is alive and well after comments on Iraq by United States President George Bush appear to have been misunderstood, the Nelson Mandela Foundation said on Friday. On Thursday Bush was quoted as saying: ”I heard somebody say, ‘Now where’s Mandela?’ Well, Mandela is dead. Because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas.”
