Agony aunt takes the stand in Zuma trial

The woman allegedly raped by former deputy president Jacob Zuma did not act the way women usually do after they are raped, the Johannesburg High Court heard on Tuesday. Clinical psychologist Louise Olivier said that in her experience if a woman could not leave the place where she was raped, she would at least lock the door or barricade herself in.

Man dies trying to save girlfriend’s shoes

A drunk man drowned on Monday after jumping off the dockside into the river Ouse in northern England to rescue his girlfriend’s shoes, the coastguard said. The 21-year-old, whose identity has not been released, dived into the water at Goole, East Yorkshire, at about 1am after he and his girlfriend had spent a night out drinking heavily.

Zim aims to bounce back into Test cricket

Zimbabwe manager Andy Pycroft is confident the cricket team will put behind it the politics and infighting at home and play well in the West Indies. Zimbabwe will meet West Indies in seven one-day internationals starting on April 29 in Antigua. The tour originally included two Tests, but the Zimbabwe government withdrew the team from all Tests this year.

JSE firms as resources rampage

The JSE was on the advance in noon trade on Tuesday, with rampant commodities prices driving resources stocks higher. Futures-related activity saw buying spread to the rest of the market, making for across-the-board gains. At 11.58am, the all share index was up 1,38%.
