I deeply admire strong, purpose-driven women who rise above adversity to lead with compassion and integrity. One of the people I look up to most is Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, former executive director of UN Women. Her advocacy for gender equality, education and women’s empowerment has inspired me to use my voice and platform to drive change — especially in rural communities where silence and suffering are often normalised. Throughout my journey, I have also been blessed with mentors who have shaped my growth, both personally and professionally. Some of my mentors are my current school principal, Mr S.R. Mudau, and my partner, Mr P.B. Mafumela, who believe in my leadership potential and have encouraged me to pursue further studies and take on more responsibility. Their guidance has taught me the value of self-belief, continuous learning and leading by example. These role models have taught me that leadership is not about position, but about purpose. They have influenced the way I approach education, community service and mentorship — with heart, resilience and a vision to uplift.
