THE Mozambican opposition Renamo party has accused the ruling Frelimo of fomenting violence in the southern Gaza province ahead of upcoming elections. Renamo spokesman Gulamo Jafar ascribed recent clashes between supporters of the two parties in the Gaza provincial capital, Xai-Xai, and in at least three other Gaza towns: Manjacaze, Chibuto and Chokwe, as Frelimo “trying to wreck the Renamo campaign in the south of the country”.
