Pacers Irfan Pathan and Zaheer Khan claimed the last two wickets on Monday as India triumphed over Bangladesh in the first Test by an innings and 140 runs.
Bangladesh were bundled out on 202 after a dismal 184 all out in the first innings. India amassed 526 thanks to 248 scored by star batsman Sachin Tendulkar, his fourth double Test hundred.
Bangladesh added 32 runs to take the total to 202 before being bowled out within 28 minutes and 5,2 overs.
Pathan dismissed overnight batsman Tapash Baishya (29) to return with figures of 6-51 in 15 overs.
That also raised his total tallies in the match to 11 wickets for 96 runs. He grabbed 5-45 in the first innings.
Manjurul Islam Rana (69) was the last to fall to Zaheer Khan, his only wicket in the second innings.
Rana’s 69-run ninth-wicket stand with Baishya prolonged Bangladesh’s defeat.
Bangladesh have played 33 Test matches since their introduction into the longer version of the game in 2000. They lost 30 of them and drew three. — Sapa-AP
