The Special National Federal Council of the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (Nafcoc) has discussed its next leadership ahead of the annual congress next month, marking the black business body’s 40th anniversary, a statement said on Wednesday.
The council also brainstormed the criteria for affecting such leadership at its meeting on Tuesday.
”Council looks forward to the annual general meeting next month. Preparations are already underway for this important conference,” said a statement issued by first vice-president Nelson Maqhwazima and deputy president Chicco Mofolo.
The meeting, which the organisation said was attended by the majority of council members, noted reports of misconduct within the organisation by certain individuals.
It reaffirmed that there was no leadership crisis. Earlier this month Nafcoc president Patrice Motsepe rejected a statement by Churchill Mrasi, chairperson of a Nafcoc disciplinary committee, that the president’s term had already expired and that chief executive, Sipho Mseleku, had been fired. – Sapa
