Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BCh), University of the Witwatersrand. During the fourth and fifth years of medical school, also completed a master’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.
A key milestone in the early development of Engage Mx was the launch of a digital service that identified patients who had discontinued chronic treatment. Within a minute of activation, the system engaged with more patients than could be seen in an entire clinical career—highlighting the potential for greater impact through improving systems of care rather than delivering care solely at the bedside.
Dr Michael Klipin has been a pivotal mentor and influence, offering guidance, encouragement and unwavering support throughout a non-traditional professional path. Known for surgical excellence and a grounded, generous character, his mentorship helped transform an emerging interest into a purposeful career.
