DEDICATED teams of detectives will probe all police attacks and killings in the flashpoint provinces of Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape, Safety and Security Minister Sydney Mufamadi announced on Friday. The announcement came as the number of policemen murdered so far this year touched the 100 mark, according to figures released by the Crime Information and Management Centre on Friday. The teams of detectives, to be controlled by co-ordinators in each of the high-risk provinces, form part of a package of measures proposed by a committee set up three weeks ago to investigate the spate of police killings.
