STANDARD Bank said Thursday it has signed a five-year R35-million deal with Emmanuels Staffing Services. Emamanuels, part of the Adcorp group, will supply management and specific staff functions at Standard’s cheque processing sites in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. Mike Backwell,Standard Bank’s director of operational services, said the deal will help improve cheque processing functions following the recent installation of image-based cheque processing equipment. Backwell stressed that the deal will not cut into Standard’s current staff complement.
