SOME 4000 striking members of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) agreed to resume to work at Volkswagen’s Uitenhage plant after lunchtime on Wednesday after downing tools over the dismissal of eight shopstewards. The strike was triggered by the workers at the plant demanding the reistatement of the eight shopstewards.
