DISGRACED Comrades runner Sergio Motsoeneng gave back his gold medal ninth place in this year’s race, after confessing his younger brother ran a large stretch of the race after they swopped clothes. Motsoeneng, who was caught after former winner Nick Bester complained he had not seen the runner overtake him, also apologised to the Comrades Marathon Association for cheating. The brothers, who were undone by wearing a watch on opposing arms, made headline news for the scam, saying they did it for their endebted father. But the family denied receiving any money.
