FORMER Springbok fly-half Joel Stransky will not be joining Premiership One Bristol as their new backline coach for the coming season, the club confirmed Monday. Stransky, 32, had been expected to link up with director of rugby Bob Dwyer, senior coach Dean Ryan and defensive coach Ellery Hanley as the west country club aimed for a top-three finish. The South African even attended a meeting of the coaches at the Memorial Stadium Monday and was set to join the players Tuesday for the start of pre-season training. But Bristol said Monday night in a statement: “Joel Stransky has not been offered a contract by Bristol and there are no plans for him to join the club’s coaching staff.”
