REMBRANDT MEMBER QUITS GOLD FIELDS

SOUTH Africa’s Gold Fields said this week that Emil Buhrmann had resigned from the company’s board of directors. Buhrmann had represented the Rembrandt Group on the board of Gold Fields, the country’s second biggest gold producer. His resignation followed Rembrandt’s agreement last week to swap an 11.3% stake in Gold Fields and 7.1% interest in Billiton Plc for almost all of Anglo American Plc’s equity in a South African bank. – Reuters
