FIVE ARRESTED FOR BESTERS MASSACRE

KWAZULU-Natal police have arrested five youths in connection with the massacre at Besters in KwaMashu north of Durban on Monday, in which seven people were killed and one wounded. Police representative Director Bala Naidoo said the arrests were made by a 20-man task team of detectives and crime intelligence officers, appointed immediately after the incident. Twelve armed men attacked a number of homes in the area at about 6 am on Monday killing six men, including two brothers, and wounding two women. Monwabisi Nxazane (30) Penuell Shange (38) Sipho Kubheka (25) Mlindeni Msomi, Jabulani Nzuza and Johannes Kubheka (27) were killed in the attack. A 21-year-old woman, Sankeliswe Ndlovu the girlfriend of Johannes Kubheka, was critically wounded and later died in a local hospital. Nokula Zungu (27) was wounded in the attack. – Sapa
