Cup’s shortest one day matches

Sri Lanka’s demolition of minnows Canada for the lowest one-day international score of 36 in Paar on Wednesday also meant the match was the shortest in World Cup history.

Sri Lanka dismissed Canada in 18.4 overs and raced to victory in just 4.4 overs – the match finishing in a total of 23.2 overs beating the previous record of 41.4 overs when West Indies beat Scotland at Leicester in 1999.
