The body of an 11-year-old boy who went missing from Groblershoop earlier this month has been found, Northern Cape police said on Monday.
Inspector Tony Modise said the body of Cornelius Boer was found on Sunday by a farmer on his land just outside the town. The body was found hanging from a piece of wire attached to a tree in the veld near a dam.
Modise said forensic experts from Pretoria would conduct an investigation of the scene. Boer disappeared from his home on March 7 and his father reported him missing to the police three days later.
After the disappearance police arrested 10 teenage boys in connection with the incident. The boys, accused of being involved in the kidnapping and murder of Boer, told police they saw two men committing the murder. These men have not been arrested.
The boys will appear in the Groblershoop Magistrate’s Court again on April 11. – Sapa
