AltX to embark on roadshow

The JSE Securities Exchange South Africa has never actively gone out across South Africa to establish whether there are companies that are suitable for a listing. But this is about to change.

AltX, the JSE’s parallel market for small- and medium-sized companies, announced on Monday that it would travel across the country to establish whether there are companies that are suitable for a listing.

AltX saw its first listings two weeks back when Beige and Insure transferred their listings to the new market.

The AltX roadshow initiative is aimed at small and medium enterprises and potential investors in the AltX market.

The roadshow starts on Tuesday in Durban and travels to Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Sun City, Cape Town, Nelspruit, Polokwane and ends in Johannesburg.

According to the manager of AltX Noah Greenhill, “We have had our first two listings during January. We have a fresh listing planned for February. This roadshow is about drumming up additional business by sharing the benefits of listing and investing on AltX.”

Greenhill added that the breakfast and lunch presentations would introduce potential issuers to the benefits and workings of AltX.

First National Bank will also provide information on alternative sources of capital and Mike Sage of FNB Corporate will present information about financial empowerment. — I-Net Bridge
