Bafana Bafana defender Mbulelo Mabizela joined Norwegian side Valerenga on Monday after being without a club for almost six months.
The deal was reportedly finalised by Valerenga boss Kjetil Siem and Mabizela’s business manager, Mike Makaab, on Monday afternoon.
Makaab, who is expected back in Durban on Tuesday, and Mabizela could not be reached for comment.
The big Mabizela has been without a club after English Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur terminated his contract last October.
The former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain tried his luck at various clubs in Europe and Scandinavia without any joy.
Despite being without a club, Mabizela was recalled by Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter for the recent Cosafa Cup in Mauritius, where he featured in two games.
Mabizela was in the Bafana Bafana squad who beat Seychelles 3-0 and Mauritius 1-0 to book themselves a place in the Cosafa Cup finals in August.
