Pilots at South African Airways (SAA) have postponed their attempt to go on strike after talks with management took a positive turn, the SAA Pilots’ Association (Saapa) said on Monday.
”The discussions have taken place in a new, positive spirit and have resulted in important progress being made,” said Saapa chairperson Captain Piet Taljaard.
As a result, the association will no longer go to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) on Monday to get an initial strike notice.
He said the CCMA meeting has been postponed for 30 days to enable negotiations to continue and ”hopefully” be finalised.
