Dutch league runners-up Twente Enschede have signed South African international Bernard Parker on a four-year contract, the club said on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old forward moves to the Netherlands after a short spell at Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, who signed him in January from Thanda Royal Zulu.
Parker played as a lone striker for much of Bafana Bafana’s Confederations Cup campaign last month, making a strong impression with his work rate. He scored both goals in the 2-0 win over New Zealand and started all five matches.
Twente, under former England manager Steve McClaren, will compete in Champions League qualifying later this month. — Reuters
