A documentary examines the evolution of the gay rights movement.
? Ten More Good Years is the fascinating film by Michael Jacoby that examines the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) activists and the challenges they have faced from the 1960s to the present. The milestone 1969 Stonewall riots put the equal rights of the LGBT community firmly on the civic agenda and the film delves into the current position of the LGBT ‘elders”, those at the forefront of the struggle that exploded into the open 40 years ago. Inspiring as their stories are, they reveal a disturbing new onslaught of discrimination from the government, social-service networks and even from their own communities.
