NOMINATIONS FOR CANDIDATES TO THE WESTERN CAPE CULTURAL COMMISSION
The Standing Committee on Community Safety, Cultural Affairs and Sport of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament calls for nominations for candidates, representing all communities, interested in serving on the Western Cape Cultural Commission for the new 3 year term. The aim of the Western Cape Cultural Commission is to preserve, promote and develop culture in the Western Cape in accordance with policy laid down by the Minister responsible for Cultural Affairs.
The Western Cape Cultural Commission was instituted to comply with the requirements as contained in the Western Cape Cultural Commission and Cultural Councils Act, 1998 (Act 14 of 1998) and the Constitution of the Western Cape.
Requirements: – Nominees should be South African citizens, at least 21 years old and permanent residents of the Western Cape – Candidates should have command of at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape and must have the necessary expertise in one or more of the following fields: Literary art; Humanities; Cultural history; Cultural industries; Visual arts and design; and/or Management of cultural facilities.

Nominations on the prescribed nomination form must be submitted by no later than 28 October 2011.
