”They are playing well from defence, playing well in midfield, but cannot co-ordinate to the last (third),” Khadiri said after the two women’s sides drew 1-1 in an international friendly at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday.
”I think their attack is zero as far as I’m concerned.
”They have some quality players, but need to work hard to boost their attack.”
Banyana are heading to their first Olympic Games, alongside Cameroon, as the continent’s representatives.
The Cameroonians beat the Nigerian Super Falcons to clinch their spot in next month’s sporting showpiece.
”I think South Africa still have work to do,” Khadiri said.
”They have to work harder because they will be representing Africa.”
Banyana coach Joseph Mkhonza admitted he was concerned about his forwards while finalising his 18-women squad later this month.
The team’s front line is led by captain Amanda Dlamini, who has been off form in recent months, and Noko Matlou.
Portia Modise has recently returned to the squad and she is expected to play key creative role in midfield.
”We have not decided on the squad as we are trying to give all girls a chance to perform,” Mkhonza said.
”I told the girls I was not pleased with scoring eight goals in the two (preceding) games, and then one today (Sunday).
”We need work on being consistent.”
Banyana have one more match, against Zambia in an African Women’s Championships qualifier on June 16 in Nelspruit, before travelling to London. – Sapa
