A memorial service for ANC MP and South African Communist Party (SACP) member Crosby Moni would be held at the weekend, the SACP said on Thursday.
"The memorial service and funeral arrangements of our fallen revolutionary comrade Crosby Moni have been finalised," it said in a statement.
The service would be held at the Vosloorus Civic Centre, on the East Rand, at 1pm on Sunday.
SACP general secretary Blade Nzimande would address the service.
The funeral would be held in Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape.
Moni contracted malaria during a recent visit to Mozambique and died on December 22.
A founding member and former deputy president of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), he served as a mineworker at the Matla Colliery in Mpumalanga, with former NUM general secretary and African National Congress secretary general Gwede Mantashe.
Moni joined Parliament in 2011 and represented the constituency of Benoni, on the East Rand.
