The M&G Centre for Investigative Journalism (amaBhungane) is a non-profit company that develops investigative journalism in the public interest. We do best-practice, agenda-setting investigative stories and plough back through skills transfer and information rights advocacy.
In April 2016, amaBhungane will relaunch as Southern Africa’s pre-eminent independent centre for investigative journalism, publishing via a range of digital and print platforms.

INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST(S)
Any applicant must:
- have at least five years’ reporting experience and a track record of agenda-setting investigative breaks
- have a solid grasp of the ethical and legal requirements of the field
- be an excellent writer
- have a passion for truth and justice and be guided by the public interest
- be a self-motivator who can work both independently and as member of a team
- have a driver’s licence valid in SA
Attributes that will be a plus:
- proofreading and copy editing skills
- new-generation investigative competencies: data management etc
- an understanding of financial statements and concepts
- multimedia competencies
- a solid grasp of social media
- an understanding of the rapidly changing media environment
