Rugby deal threatened

The Sanzar rugby unions — South Africa, New Zealand and Australia — could find their lucrative television deal is in jeopardy if the ideas in the discussion paper on sports broadcasting rights released last week by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) make their way into law.

Revenge is in the air

This weekend’s Telkom Charity Cup has for the past three weeks provided an emotional rollercoaster ride for the 18 teams in the Premier Soccer League. The ride came to an end this week when the four teams who will participate in the tournament were announced after the 650 000 votes cast by the public had been tallied.
