Although Lewis Hamilton couldn’t wrap up the Formula One title in the Chinese Grand Prix, he is still in a position to make history as the circuit’s youngest champion. Since the Englishman was nine years old he has nurtured a dream of following in the steps of former champions Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Alain Prost.

Massa takes pole postion at Bahrain GP

Felipe Massa took the pole position on Saturday for the Bahrain Grand Prix, leading the field in qualifying for the fourth time in the last five Formula One races. It was the fifth career pole, and second straight, for the Ferrari driver. He ended the 2006 season with two pole positions, but only won the Brazilian GP.

Alonso wins Malaysian Grand Prix

World champion Fernando Alonso won the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday to hand new team McLaren-Mercedes their first Formula One (F1) win since 2005. Rookie Lewis Hamilton, F1’s first black driver, added to the McLaren resurgence by finishing second ahead of Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen, who won the Australian Grand Prix last month.

Raikonnen in pole position in Melbourne

Kimi Raikkonen took pole position on Saturday for Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix, the season’s Formula One opener. It was Raikkonen’s 12th career pole, but his first in a Ferrari. Formerly of McLaren, the Finn joined Ferrari to replace seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, who retired last year.

Schumacher wins European GP over Alonso

Michael Schumacher wasn’t surprised he won his second straight Formula One race after taking out the European Grand Prix for the sixth time on Sunday. Schumacher, who also relegated F1 champion Fernando Alonso to runner-up at Nürburgring like he did at San Marino GP two weeks ago, felt Ferrari’s earlier performances in the season weren’t accurate.

Renaults looking like Ferraris

One team is dominating formula one. Only instead of Ferrari, it’s Renault. Rather than the familar red racers out front, it’s the blue-and-yellow of Giancarlo Fisichella and world champion Fernando Alonso, who finished 1-2 and in the Malaysian Grand Prix made it look easy.
