World Cup returns to action after Black Sunday

World Cup cricketers attempt to get back to competitive business on Monday, 24 hours after the tournament was rocked by the death of Pakistan’s coach Bob Woolmer and an England drinking scandal. India are aiming to bounce back from their surprise defeat to Bangladesh while hosts West Indies could book their place in the next stage of the competition.

Massa expects equal treatment with Raikkonen

Brazilian Felipe Massa expects equal treatment with new Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen this season and is confident he can improve on last season’s third place championship finish. Massa told a news conference on Wednesday that he feels he has a new status since the retirement of seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher.

Schumacher announces retirement

Michael Schumacher, the most successful Formula One driver of all time, said on Sunday that he was retiring from the sport at the end of the season. Ferrari announced the German’s decision just minutes after Schumacher won the Italian Grand Prix. ”It has been a really tough decision not to work together at this level but I knew that one day it had to come,” Schumacher told a post-race news conference.
