England continue winning streak

England completed a seven-wicket win over the West Indies in the second Test in Trinidad on Tuesday to go 2-0 up in the four-Test series. The win means that England have avoided a series defeat in the Caribbean for the first time since 1968. They also retained the Wisden Trophy.

Life in a Ugandan internally displaced persons camp

”There are six boreholes in this camp between 60 000 people — that’s one for each 10 000. Each family gets only two jerry cans full per day, and sometimes you have to wait 24 hours to get yours.” Many of the children at the Pabbo Internally Displaced Persons camp have never known anything other than life inside the parameters that house 60 000 people.

Era of African coups has ended, says Sisulu

It should be clear to coup plotters and mercenaries that their day in Africa has ended, said Intelligence Minister Lindiwe Sisulu. Sisulu said the fact that the combined intelligence and security services of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea had stopped a coup in its tracks should make it clear that an era had gone.
