Lara tinkers with team ahead of India matches

Captain Brian Lara says the West Indies will continue to experiment against underwhelming Zimbabwe in the seven-match limited overs cricket series, including game five on Wednesday. ”I think it is a situation of everybody getting a game,” said Lara, whose side has a comfortable 3-0 lead. ”We still want to make sure we have the right players and we have everybody peaking at the right time.”

Ruud ‘booted out’ by Ferguson

Ruud van Nistelrooy did not walk out on Manchester United last weekend but was booted out by Alex Ferguson, it was reported on Tuesday. Tuesday’s Manchester Evening News said that the training ground rows last week between manager Ferguson and Van Nistelrooy were so serious that the United boss ordered the striker to go home.

No Boks for Currie Cup

Springboks players likely to be involved in the World Cup will be exempt from playing Currie Cup rugby for the next two years. This was confirmed on Tuesday by Andy Marinos, the South African Rugby manager of national teams at a media briefing in Johannesburg.
