Organisations in Dullstroom denied on Monday that there is something wrong with the water quality in the popular Mpumalanga resort town. ”We would like to assure the public that the quality of water in Dullstroom has never been in question,” the organisations said in a joint statement.

The government of Tanzania plans to have at least 44 000 people infected with HIV/Aids on anti-retroviral treatment (ARVs) by the end of 2005, President Benjamin Mkapa said on Sunday. This figure, he said, represents about 10% of the actual number of those in need of ARVs.

Gauteng’s lesbian and gay community took to the streets of Johannesburg on Saturday to celebrate the 16th Annual Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade. South African gay website <i>Mambaonline</i> said the event was "described by many as one of the most successful to date", though the parade was marred by a bottle-throwing incident.
