Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka was at home when her house was broken into recently, the Cape Times website reported on Thursday. Burglars entered Mlambo-Ngcuka’s home in Morningside, Sandton, on the night of August 13 and stole her handbag, laptop computer and cellphone.

United States President George Bush on Wednesday ordered the release of crude oil from US strategic reserves as the White House sought to prevent the spike in global energy prices caused by Hurricane Katrina damaging the world’s biggest economy. There are fears that oil prices could continue rising to or a barrel.
