Statistics by the Department of Correctional Services indicate that of the country’s provinces Kwazulu-Natal, with 957, has the highest number of juveniles incarcerated. This was followed by the Western Cape, with 810 children, and Gauteng with 719 children.

The watching Prince Harry may be third in line for his mum’s throne. After this ugly triumph, England are at least one step up the ladder from there when it comes to the pecking order for the global crown in Sydney on November 22.

So near and yet so far. Written off by all but the most one-eyed before the game, South Africa should have beaten the best rugby team in the world at the Subiaco Oval. Instead England won 25-6 and as anticipated long ago, the Boks will almost certainly have to beat the All Blacks in the quarterfinal to stay in the World Cup.

England star Jonny Wilkinson scored 20 points as the World Cup co-favourites overcame a ferocious performance from South Africa to win 25-6 at Subiaco Oval here on Saturday. Fly-half Wilkinson put on a flawless display with the boot to put England in pole position in Pool C — effectively condemning South Africa to a daunting quarter-final against New Zealand.

Public Protector Lawrence Mushwana has cleared Deputy President Jacob Zuma of allegations he breached the executive ethics code by not properly declaring his interests and liabilities in the register of financial interests. However, Mushwana did not investigate Zuma’s relationship with his financial adviser, Durban businessman Schabir Shaik.
