Australia thrash India in Twenty20 clash

Australia captain Michael Clarke steered his side to a nine-wicket victory over India in their Twenty20 international at a packed Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday. After skittling the world champions out for just 74, with Nathan Bracken taking three wickets, Clarke then scored 37 of Australia’s runs needed for victory.

Aussies vow to wreck India’s party

Australia captain Ricky Ponting warned Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s celebrating Indians on Thursday that the tourists are determined to start the one-day series on a winning note on Saturday. Ponting said India would be under pressure after lifting the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa and his side had all the resources they needed, despite missing key players.
