First, Miss America dumped Atlantic City. Now Monopoly has too. The maker of the popular board game does not plan to include Atlantic City’s Boardwalk property in a special edition scheduled to be released late this summer. Monopoly maker Hasbro confirmed its plans in a letter on Tuesday to New Jersey civic leaders, who launched a petition drive to keep the property in the new game.
Merck opened its defence on Thursday in the second product liability trial over its arthritis medicine, countering claims that it did not study whether Vioxx might cause more heart ailments than other pain relievers. Merck researcher Dr Briggs Morrison told jurors the company conducted several studies of Vioxx before putting it on the market in May 1999, each concluding that Vioxx posed no threats to heart health.

Wladimir Klitschko, who fell out of the heavyweight picture after a pair of upset losses in 2003 and 2004, survived being knocked down three times by Samuel Peter on Saturday en route to a unanimous 12-round decision in an IBF elimination bout.
