Egypt moves 5 000 troops near Gaza border

Egypt moved 5 000 more security forces near the Gaza Strip border on Saturday after an Israeli report said Israel may bomb tunnels used for smuggling weapons into Palestinian territories, an Egyptian official said. Israel says it has been unable to control weapons smuggling into Gaza since it withdrew its forces from the coastal strip last year.

Ghana ‘is a World Cup team’

Ghana coach Ratomir Dujkovic offers no excuses for his team’s first-round exit from the African Nations Cup. ”Zimbabwe played better. It’s that simple,” the Serb said after the Black Stars lost 2-1 in the final game. ”Maybe today we didn’t play as you would expect, but Ghana is a World Cup team and they [can offer] more than the level they showed today.”

It’s murder in Group of Death

The so-called Group of Death at the African Nations Cup lived up to its billing on Tuesday as both matches went down to the wire. In the end, Nigeria finished top of group D after coming from behind to beat Senegal 2-1, while Zimbabwe deservedly beat Ghana 2-1 but still finished out of the money.
