IFP, DA leaders discuss strategy

Inkatha Freedom Party leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi and official opposition Democratic Alliance leader Tony Leon met in Cape Town on Monday to discuss their working agreement ahead of national elections next year. The meeting follows a joint parliamentary caucus meeting of the parties last week.

Workers urged to vote for ANC

NNP asks for urgent firearm amnesty

The New National Party has renewed its call for an amnesty for people to hand in illegal firearms, saying ”rather sooner than later”. Safety and Security Minister Charles Nqakula has said it remained the government’s intention to reduce the number of firearms in the country, and to institute efficient regulations regarding gun ownership.

‘Zuma’s story should be told too’

Counsel for Deputy President Jacob Zuma told the Pretoria High Court on Wednesday that Zuma’s side of the story should be told as well. Zuma’s counsel brought an application before the court on Wednesday in an effort to get a copy of an encrypted French fax that pertains to the alleged arms-deal bribe.

Zuma has no plans to resign
