Four armed men tried to hijack wheelchair tennis sensation Lucas Sithole and his brother on Friday night.
South African Craig Tiley, the man behind the Australian Open, says a "think big, act boldly" plan will turn things around for local tennis.
SA wheelchair star Lucas Sithole has became the first African tennis player to feature in both the singles and doubles finals at the Australian Open.
Fresh off winning the wheelchair quad singles title at the US Open tennis tournament, Lucas Sithole is aiming for a medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

A ferry boat carrying 74 people capsized on Roodeplaat Dam on Wednesday afternoon, Tshwane emergency services (EMS) said. EMS spokesperson Johan Pieterse said one passenger suffered a serious leg laceration and was taken to hospital. He said the Pisces capsized and overturned at about 2.45pm.

The Pretoria offices of the daily Afrikaans newspaper Beeld were robbed of more than 30 computers and four cars, Pretoria police said on Saturday. ”I can confirm that a group of armed men stole about 38 computers, four cars, a camera and a cellphone during the robbery in Hatfield on Friday night,” said Captain Lucas Sithole.
A Pretoria man released his family on Tuesday after holding them hostage for nine hours, police said. Captain Lucas Sithole said the man took his 13-year-old son and 43-year-old wife hostage at their Eldoraigne home on Monday night. ”The man held them at gunpoint and threatened to kill them due to family-related problems,” he said.

Police fired rubber bullets at a group of striking refuse workers who turned violent in Pretoria West on Friday, stoning waste-removal trucks. Captain Lucas Sithole said about 200 workers gathered outside the city’s waste-management offices at 12.30pm.
