Three dead in Kenya plane crash

A small plane flying to Kenya’s Masai Mara game reserve crashed on Tuesday and three people were killed, a tour operator said. The dead were two passengers on a safari holiday, both Germans living in Switzerland, and the Kenyan pilot, said Will Jones, managing director of British-based tour operator Journeys by Design.

Armed bandits hit luxury Kenyan safari camp

Armed bandits raided a luxury safari camp near Kenya’s famed Maasai Mara game reserve early on Tuesday, stealing cash and passports from British and United States tourists staying there, officials said. About six men with AK-47 assault rifles and machetes stormed the Mara Porini Camp in a private conservancy just outside the wildlife-rich reserve shortly after midnight.

Two charged in gang attack on Kenya tourists

A Kenyan court in Narok on Thursday charged two men with capital offenses in a brazen armed attack on a group of Japanese, South African and United States tourists in the country’s famed Maasai Mara game reserve this week. The pair, who were escorted into the courtroom under tight security, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Armed gang attack tourists on safari in Kenya

Two Japanese tourists were wounded and three others were robbed along with two South Africans when an armed gang hijacked a pair of safari vans in Kenya’s famed Maasai Mara game reserve, police said on Tuesday. Seven men armed with a rifle, clubs and machetes attacked the tourists on Monday evening as they were returning from a game drive.
