Reliance may pay premium for MTN control

India’s Reliance Communications is prepared to pay a significant premium for control of South African mobile phone group MTN, the FT Alphaville website said on Thursday. MTN and Reliance said on Monday they were in exclusive talks after India’s biggest mobile phone operator Bharti Airtel broke off talks.

DoCoMo to tie up with Google:

Japan’s leading mobile phone operator NTT DoCoMo, trying to fight off resurgent competitors, will tie up with United States search-engine giant Google to upgrade its services, a report said Tuesday. DoCoMo will incorporate Google’s search and email features into its popular "i-mode" internet service as part of a broader alliance.
