Talks to end a sometimes violent truck driver strike that has seen hundreds of petrol stations run dry, continued into the early hours of Wednesday.
Reports that South Africa is on the brink of a national fuel shortage are exaggerated, the petroleum industry association said on Tuesday.

Some petrol stations have run dry as a strike in the road freight industry enters its third day, the Fuel Retailers Association said on Thursday.
Wage negotiations between truck drivers and their employers will continue on Wednesday, the Road Freight Employers’ Association said.
Mediation efforts will start on Monday to try to prevent a national strike on Tuesday that could see petrol stations run dry.
A strike at SA Airways by members of the South African Transport and Allied Workers’ Union is over, both parties said on Thursday.
