Brandhouse is committed to playing an active and positive role in communities around South Africa. From providing clean water to adult literacy to enterprise development, the company looks for ways in which it can enrich and improve our country and its people.
In South Africa, brandhouse is known for its quality brands that consumers appreciate responsibly on occasions of enjoyment and celebration.
Brandhouse is also now growing its reputation for the other benefits we bring to society – uplifting our communities by putting long-lasting value back through social investment programmes.
Over the last six months we ran one of our flagship CSI campaigns, the Pitch and Polish initiative. This is a transformational enterprise development initiative which shines the spotlight on entrepreneurship at a grassroots level by uncovering SA’s most promising entrepreneurs during a series of workshops held in small towns around the country.
Last year alone, over 500 entrepreneurs received business coaching and mentorship from qualified and successful entrepreneurs in the Entrepreneurs Organisation and Raizcorp networks.
Attendees of the workshops were also given an opportunity to pitch their business proposals to the audience and a panel of judges to be guided and polished further until three finalists remained.
Ntombenhle Khathwane was announced the winner of the 2010 brandhouse Pitch and Polish competition. Ntombenhle, who manufactures an ethnic haircare line, won a trip to Dallas to receive further coaching from a successful entrepreneur in the haircare and beauty industry.
This is just one of the ways in which brandhouse has sought to give back to South Africans in a sustainable and impactful way. We are proud to be associated with all the various partners, agencies, government departments and participants in this programme.
Last but not least, a very serious issue which impacts millions on our roads: drunk driving.
Through the brandhouse Drive Dry campaign, we have created a deep and meaningful debate around drunk driving and support government’s efforts in curbing the carnage on our roads, particularly over the festive season.
Our Pappa Wag Vir Jou campaign last year generated controversy but, more than that, a real positive shift in the public`s attitudes towards drunk driving. We are proud to have worked with our agency partners and government departments on a campaign that most agree has aided in saving lives.
At brandhouse we believe that creating value and living our values are both essential for the continued prosperity of our organisation and our development as a truly sustainable business in South Africa. We will continue to invest in initiatives which build our society for the better through continued partnerships with our stakeholders who help us stay in touch with the needs of our communities.
