SA November manufacturing output up

South Africa’s manufacturing output grew by a higher-than-expected 4,6% year-on-year in volume terms in November compared with a downwardly revised 2,3% rise in October, Statistics South Africa said on Tuesday.

Compared with October, factory production in volume terms was up by a seasonally adjusted 2,5% in November. Output, however, fell by 1,6% in the three months to November compared with the previous three months, also on a seasonally adjusted basis.

A Reuters poll last week predicted a year-on-year increase of 2,8% in November manufacturing output. — Reuters
